Academic Half Day

Endocrinology academic half day (AHD) occurs on Friday mornings between 8:00 and 11:00 am most weeks of the year. The AHD curriculum is intended to cover core endocrine topics as well as more specialized endocrine topics.

Time

8:00 – 9:00 am: The first hour is open to medical students, residents, fellows and staff. There is a rotating schedule of events, which may include staff presentations, physical exam sessions, case presentations, and journal clubs.

9:00 – 10:00 am: The second hour is intended for medical residents/students, who are currently on their endocrinology rotation and often includes basic/general endocrine topics.

10:00 – 11:00 am: The last hour is intended exclusively for endocrinology fellows, when specialized endocrine endocrine topics are covered in more detail.

Locations

The location of AHD changes weekly, mostly alternating between VGH and SPH (occasionally at other locations, such as BC Children’s Hospital). For specific locations, see the division calendar link below.
